At LA Therapy we deliver Community and Therapeutic Groups which are delivered at the following spaces:

Connect & Bloom

Connect & Bloom is a community music group for ex NICU/SCN families within 12 months post admission. Families will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with other families who have navigated a NICU/SCN admission

  • Engage in fun music & play based interventions that foster connection, development and wellbeing

  • Learn how music and your voice can support your infants development and overall wellbeing

  • Learn how music can support your own wellbeing and mental health

Morning tea provided!​ This group is for: - Families within 12 months post NICU/SCN admission - Families that want a group that understand and supports their experience and transition into community groups Cost:​ $35 - casual rate $300 - 10 week commitment (14.29% discount) ​When: TBA - EOI Now Open! Please note: If time/location doesn't work for you, or you aren't yet ready to attend groups yet but you are interested in attending, please fill in the EOI form with your preferred day/time. EOI's help inform the expansion of the program.

Creative Adventures to Parenthood

This antenatal group is for pregnant women and birthing parents, offering both therapeutic and community benefits, providing a space for expectant parents to explore their evolving identity through creative expression. Led by a Registered Music Therapist and Creative Arts Therapist (Drama), the sessions incorporate music and the creative arts to support reflection, connection, and emotional well-being.

Throughout the group, participants will engage in a range of therapeutic interventions designed to nurture self-discovery and connection with their growing baby. Activities include: 🎵 Songwriting – Express thoughts and emotions through lyrics and melody 🎨 Nest creation – Build a symbolic space of comfort and anticipation 📻 Playlist curation – Create soundtracks for different moments of the journey 💃 Expressive movement – Connect with the body and emotions through guided movement 🧘‍♀️ Music for relaxation – Use music and breath-work to promote calm and mindfulness 🎶 Singing Mamas – Experience the joy and connection of communal singing (especially for people who think they can't sing!!). Start building your post-partum community. Through these creative and therapeutic experiences, participants will explore inner worlds, their evolving identity, and the transformation that comes with stepping into parenthood. When: TBA - dependant on expressions of interest Where: The Midwives House - High Street Thornbury 3071 Delivered by: George Williams (She/They) AThR and Lauren Khalil-Salib (She/Her), RMT Cost: 10-12 week program - $40 - casual rate - $350 - 10 week commitment (12.5% discount!) 1 full day or 2 x half days (6hour course) - $200

Mini & Me Melodies

Mother and Baby

Mini & Me Melodies is a music group for you and your baby, delivered at Maternal and Infant Wellbeing Melbourne (Parkville). The group will cover a range of topics, including music for sleep, routines, play, development and of course music as a supportive wellbeing tool for YOU, all whilst connecting with others and enjoying some fun musical time with your little one!

This group is delivered by a Registered Music Therapist. 

When: EOI now open! Where: Maternal and Infant Wellbeing Melbourne - 369 Royal Parade Parkville 3052 Cost: $35 - casual rate $300 - 10 week commitment (14.29% discount)
